Greetings Soldiers of the Cross,
Has been awhile since our last post; so very much is happening, again, if you open yourself up for the Lord’s work there is plenty to do. One thing I have learned is to not worry about worldly things of survival for we serve a Mighty God and He is more than able to provide all we have need of. The world keeps us focused on so many things which cause us worry and that leads to discomfort and eventually fear. Why take thought for tomorrow, when He is our eternal provider. That was a hard hurdle to get over for me, too. Some of these acts of faith are akin to walking on water.
We are planning on a Bible study on January 8-10 in Northeast Louisiana. We will be at Chemin-A-Haut State park. Diane e-mailed me the following information as to the event:
The Group Camp Building in Chemin-A-Haut State Park near Bastrop, Louisiana is reserved for our group Bible Study from Friday, January 8 – Sunday, January10, 2010. The Group Camp will sleep 60 with separate bunk rooms and showers for men & women. The Camp also contains kitchen with conference room. The Group Camp is reserved in Diane Watt’s name; check in time is around 3:00 PM on Friday , Jan. 8 and check out is around 12:00 PM on Sunday, Jan. 10. You will want to bring your sleeping bag or bedding, towels & toiletries, and food for the pot-luck meals which can be heated or cooked in the kitchen. The Camp is heated as it could be cold in January. The conference room contains wood tables and chairs; may want to bring a cushion or lawn chair for added comfort.
Directions: Chemin-A-Haut State Park is located about 10 miles north of Bastrop, LA. From Monroe, LA take U.S. 165 or 139 north to Bastrop, LA, take U.S. 425 north to LA 2229 (State Park Road, right turn off 425 drive 1 mile to entrance). Coming South from Hamburg, AR, take U.S. 425 to LA 2229 (State Park Road, left turn, drive 1 mile). This 503 acre Park site takes its name from the French word meaning “High Road” which was the route used by Native American Indians many years ago in their seasonal migrations. This will be a blessed Bible Fellowship for all and a wonderful way to begin a new year in service to our Father.
I know that January seems like an odd time to be traveling to such a meeting but this is the time we have been given. We have met here before and it was a great time. So, if you are interested in attending please let us know in advance so we can get a general idea of how many will be attending.
We are looking forward to being with you again. Until then, we serve a victorious Lord and King. Buzz and Robyn
The Bible Study and Fellowship March 5-6 was such a blessing. Our Father was there with us and we felt His presence. Our study was deep, spiritually. We are beginning to walk in the New Covenant and we see with New Eyes – we learned the importance of just “sitting” with our Father and in communion with Him seeking how we can please Him. WE feel no rush to witness, or do busy work for God; we know we are here to love Him and wait upon Him. WE all felt a peace that passeth all understanding. I believe everyone left the meeting with desire for more and deeper study in God’s word. I really believe that 1 Peter 2:9 – 12 can best describe our study. I encourage you to sit before the Lord today and ponder those scriptures. We truly are called out of darkness into His marvelous light.
Today, I study. I do not look for signs. I know my Savior lives within my heart though I am not worthy of Him, He made me righteous and I am so grateful for this marvelous light of Grace. I do not worry about the news of this world for though I am in it, I am not of it for my walk is in God’s kingdom and I will to serve Him.
Our Fellowship included prayers for all who could not be with us. We sat at the table together and ate wonderful foods. We shared our trials and we laughed. We sat around the campfire and just enjoyed ourselves before the Lord.
We will gather again in October at the Chemin-a-Haut Group Camp and I pray that you will come. Father bless, Diane Watt
